Reflecting on my sustainability lessons
In reflecting on what I have learned I just wanted to say that the things that I have learned only reinforced my beliefs that our footprint leaves a lasting effect on our environment. It can change our natural resources tremendously if we continue down the road of having large carbon footprints and using things that leaves a negative effect on the earth. I have been very conscious of being sustainable since I was tiny. So, in understanding the adverse effects and what changes we need to make is very important to me.
I have learned how businesses are affected by being sustainable and how their company affects the world by being sustainable. This class has opened my eyes even more from what I have learned. It is essential to understand the lasting effects that we have on the earth when we make decisions. We might think that our choices can have a significant impact on the planet, but it sure does. Our surroundings have been created to supply users with natural resources for us to survive, but it is becoming limited because of the number of people that we must stretch those resource to provide for everyone.
I felt grief to understand that the plastic bags, bottles, and straws can kill our sea life it seems that these things are necessities and are necessary to everyone, but we can grasp the fact that a lot of the things that we use affects everything in our surroundings. I have learned so many things in my sustainability business class, and that is the importance of being sustainable. It has thought me to reflect on life more because things aren’t always going to stay the same. It was also important to me to learn that all life is essential. Even thou I already understand that it became more evident to me when learning about sustainability.
The world must make a choice, and that choice is to become more sustainable in its practices and how we affect our surroundings. We must curb our habits of living without care. The cure for becoming sustainable is to learn from your wrongs and make them right. We ultimately make a choice to save the earth and our natural resources. It starts with us, and businesses, you might not always want to cut back or make the necessary changes, but we must start today to make things sustainable. We are the ones with the power that it what I have learned with my sustainability class. Let’s make the change today. Let’s stop negatively affecting all life.
